Skagit Valley College is seeking applications for the Associate Faculty position in Data Management & Analytics. This role involves teaching courses in the Data Management & Analytics program, developing curriculum, and engaging with students to foster a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality instruction in Data Management & Analytics courses across assigned modalities

Design, adapt, and update curriculum to meet the needs of all learners and align with community and industry demands. Prepare course syllabi

Create a positive, engaging learning environment using high-impact, student-centered teaching practices inside and outside the classroom

Evaluate student performance, and document program outcomes in alignment with accreditation and college standards

Contribute to program development, strategic planning, and continuous improvement through outcome assessment

Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, fulfilling faculty responsibilities consistent with college policies and agreements

Required

Five (5) years of practical, professional experience in data analytics or business intelligence; AND/OR a master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field (such as Informatics, Business Administration, or Computer Science)

Experience using an industry-standard suite of data visualization tools: either Tableau (preferred) and/or Power BI

Experience with teaching or training in a classroom, online, or a professional setting

Experience working with data preparation and with integrations into and out of databases, including SQL

Experience providing instruction or training in a classroom, online, or professional setting

Preferred

Two or more years of teaching experience, ideally at a community college or other post-secondary institution

Eight or more years of industry experience in data analytics

Work history or a portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency in data visualization and visual communication

Strong skills in coding for data analytics
