SUPERVISORY CHILD AND YOUTH SPECIALIST

The United States Space Force is seeking a Supervisory Child and Youth Specialist. The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Child and Youth Services Flight activities assigned to the Force Support Squadron, contributing to the mission readiness, resilience, and well-being of the military force and family members.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Child and Youth Services Flight
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities of APF and NAF Personnel. Directs,coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters
Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, squadron commanders, and representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and related civilian organizations regarding services provided
Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for child and youth services programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements

Males must be registered for Selective Service
A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position
Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade or equivalent in the Federal Service
Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and Child and Youth Services Flight objectives
Plan and/or schedule work in such a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution and ensures effective use of organization resources to achieve organization goals and objectives as well as installation customer needs
Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters
Maintain effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, squadron commanders, and representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and related civilian organizations regarding services provided
Evaluate child and youth services programs ability to meet current and future mission requirements
Monitor and evaluate operating units and activities to determine compliance with applicable regulations, directives, procedures, and policies
Professional knowledge of concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to social or behavioral science and/or child and youth development
Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices and procedures
Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing community resources within the program framework to augment the program to meet installation objectives
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
