Responsibilities

Tooling, Molding, and Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Existing Product
Lead and approve current project improvements and development validations for injection molds and tooling support systems
Provide technical guidance to internal teams during mold maintenance and qualification
Provide technical guidance for the molding machine, hot runner controllers, mold temp controllers, raw material conveyor system
Basic understanding of custom robotic post molding takeout systems
Injection Molding Process Development
Define and optimize injection molding processes for an existing product
Conduct process capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and root cause analyses to improve quality and throughput
Oversee molding trials, validation runs (IQ/OQ/PQ), and process documentation for current product changes
Understand raw material process impacts
Scout and evaluate advanced tooling technologies and auxiliary equipment to help drive safety and efficiency
Recommend capital investments and tooling standardization initiatives for existing product
Write capital justifications to obtain funding
Support R&D with tooling-related aspects of cross-functional New Product Introduction programs from concept through production ramp-up to our production environment
Maintain project timelines, cost targets, and risk mitigation plans
Collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and our global teams
Support our quality systems and initiatives
Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices in tooling and molding
Work with R&D to ensure tooling designs meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards in our current manufacturing environment
Maintain documentation and change control in compliance with internal and external quality systems for medical devises

Required

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
