Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, Retail Platforms

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code that is developed meets their vision
Align to Security/Compliance frameworks and controls requirements
Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL to meet functional and technical requirements
Write clean, testable code in Java and Python, with unit testing using JUnit
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
Use Maven or Gradle for build automation and dependency management
Architect and implement containerize, using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes, and cloud native applications
Work with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis) databases
Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
Monitor, optimize, and secure cloud environments using AWS-native tools
Optimize cloud costs and performance through monitoring, automation, and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, with 8+ years of relevant technical experience or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 2+ years of technical experience
Strong programming skills in Java (Spring Boot) and Python
Experience with JUnit for unit testing and GraphQL for API development
Proficiency with Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management
Deep understanding of microservices architecture and API design
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS container services
Hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, etc
Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database technologies
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional)
Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, SNS/SQS)
Familiarity with serverless computing and edge services (e.g., AWS Lambda@Edge, CloudFront)
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps culture
Experience in the airline or retail industry, with domain-specific knowledge
