Procurement Associate Director - Global EMI

Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of high-impact global category managers
Support your team in the definition and communication of category strategies in alignment with business requirements and market conditions to drive savings and value opportunities across BD
Ensure continuous refreshes and updates of category strategies are being performed by category managers based on internal and external sensing
Collaborate closely with category managers, business unit procurement teams, R&D sourcing teams and internal customers across BDs Integrated Supply Chain organization to deliver recommendations for incorporating category strategies and value delivery into business commitments for review and approval
Support category managers to ensure supplier selection is aligned with sourcing strategies and has the required approval
Facilitate assignment of supplier relationship owners as advised by category managers and support communication of assignments into the business
Guide category managers on excellence in supplier relationship management to ensure delivery of inclusive and value-adding quarterly business reviews with suppliers, multi-year value plans with preferred suppliers vetted with the business units and third-party innovation and sustainability activities built into category strategies
Empower and support category managers in negotiation planning, negotiations, and contracting with suppliers
Support development and maintenance of risk mitigation plans for the assigned category portfolio
Take financial accountability and ensure price movement is handled effectively and budget objectives are being met
Guide category managers to ensure optimal supply base compliance, including corporate procedures and legislation requirements
Qualification
Required
BS/BA degree with 8-10+ years of relevant experience with manufacturing environments from assignments in direct materials Category Management, Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Self-starter mentality and growth mindset to challenge status quo
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare industry
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
Commitment to results and consistent record of getting things done
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and colleagues within the organization
Proven track record of taking initiative and effectively implementing procurement strategies and achieving desired outcomes
Strong business acumen and ability to navigate short term business priorities and long term strategy development at the same time
Preferred
Experience with contract manufacturing industry as well as with electro-mechanical, mechatronic and medical instrumentation supply base and categories is a plus
Previous people management experience is preferred
