Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of the OFM staff responsible for budget formulation and execution, and general administrative support. In this capacity, assist program offices in developing financial plans, allocate funding, monitor costs and expenditures; review and initiate financial plan adjustments; and develop regular review of program data
Analyze, evaluate, develop and advise on the organization, work methods and procedures for providing administrative support systems; organizational structures; records and files; management processes; staffing patterns; automating work processes; communication and financial plans
Exercise significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations and advises higher-level management officials on plans and programs
Coordinate the collection, analysis, and submission of reports required of the Office of Financial Management, Departmental Offices, and/or the Department, by statute, regulation, or administrative directive. These reports are submitted to external entities such as the Office of Management and Budget and Congress and are used by them in their oversight responsibilities

Required

Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
All newly appointed employees to the federal service are subject to a probationary period if hired under a competitive service appointment, or a trial period if hired under an excepted service appointment
A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required
Must successfully complete a background investigation
All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer
If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so
Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service
