Responsibilities
Lead the design and architecture of Appian-based solutions to meet business goals and technical requirements
Develop complex process models using Appian Designer and guide end-to-end BPM development following Appian best practices
Design and implement high-quality solutions using SAIL interfaces, Complex Data Types (CDTs), and custom database schemas
Provide architectural direction and technical solutions for Appian-based Business Process Management (BPM) applications
Advise and support the development team on Appian capabilities, integrations, data structures, and automation strategies
Mentor junior developers by providing guidance, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions
Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into effective technical solutions
Conduct system performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and responsiveness of Appian applications
Develop technical documentation including reports, user manuals, test plans, architecture diagrams and release notes
Participate in business process re-engineering efforts for federal agencies or enterprise clients, providing Appian expertise to streamline operations
Ensure adherence to architecture frameworks, compliance standards, and Appian development best practices
Stay updated on the latest Appian features and industry advancements to enhance application functionality and team capabilities
Qualification
Required
3-4 years of experience in IT development
Deep expertise in Appian BPM, Appian SAIL, and Appian RPA
Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, SQL, and REST APIs for integrations
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
Hands-on experience with Appian plug-ins and Appian Administration
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Strong communication skills to influence decisions both horizontally and vertically within an enterprise
Takes direction from the Project Manager and Technical Lead while collaborating with developers on development tasks
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university or college
Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
Certifications: Appian Certified Senior Developer
