Supervisory Immigration Services Officer (Associate Regional Director)

Responsibilities
Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Field Operations Directorate and are assigned based on the need of the agency
Direct immigration programs and related functions in accordance with program objectives and policies established by USCIS Headquarters and higher-level supervisors
Assume responsibility in dealing with officials of other units or organizations, or in advising management officials of higher rank
Exercise authority to set regional adjudications program, performance management, records and quality assurance procedures, staffing and budget for program operations
Carry out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and program activities, communicating support of these policies to subordinates, and encouraging active participation in EEO program activities and training
Plan work to be completed by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and set target dates for work completion. Coordinate, direct, and oversee subordinates and exercise responsibility in advising management officials
Evaluate and develop performance standards and assess work performance of subordinate supervisors
Oversee the administration of immigration benefits and services, including the processing of all applications, and the effective operation of immigration benefits and administrative functions within the region’s jurisdiction
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National to apply for this position
Successfully pass a Background Investigation including financial disclosure
You must pass a drug screening
You must submit resume and supporting documentation
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service
You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government
Experience performing the following duties: Planning and directing major agency-level immigration projects, Managing major components of immigration operational programs and their support functions, Serving as an expert or consultant to senior management officials on the resolution of extremely sensitive and complicated immigration uses to include all areas of Immigration and Nationality Law and Procedures, Directing the development of nationwide policy and program initiatives
