Assistant Professor in Women's History
The University of Ottawa is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading university and the largest bilingual university in the world. They are seeking an Assistant Professor in Women’s History to engage in research, teaching, and community service, with a focus on women’s history.

Responsibilities
Maintain and develop a research program in women’s history
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in women’s history in both French and English
Recruit and train graduate students
Work collaboratively in research and service
Participate in administrative activities of the department
Qualification
Required
Be within the first seven years of their initial academic appointment
Possess a doctorate (Ph.D.) by July 1, 2026 in History or a related discipline
A demonstrated track record of research excellence, including peer-reviewed publications, in women's history
Excellent communication skills in either English or French
Active knowledge of Canada's two official languages (French and English) is a requirement for tenure
Evidence of excellence in the teaching of history or of a related discipline
Preferred
English-French bilingualism is an asset
Experience attracting and supervising graduate students is an asset
