SAIC is seeking a Space Protection Acquisition Engineer to join our team providing systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The role involves serving as a subject matter expert and coordinating with development contractors to deploy new protection capabilities into space operations.

Responsibilities

Providing acquisition strategy, acquisition planning, and systems engineering expertise to support software development, implementation, and deployment of ground processing systems providing space protection capabilities

Leading the creation of Requests for Information/Proposal (RFIs/RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Award Fee/Incentive Fee Plans, and Source Selection Plans

Guiding and supporting program acquisitions through agency governance and oversight processes

Serving within a team of SMEs to evaluate Developer responses to RFPs/ECPs, develop negotiation strategies, develop Program Office Estimates (POEs), and complete associated assessment documentation

Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting Developer’s performance in delivering contract requirements within schedule and cost targets and developing courses of action for the Government customer based on findings and assessments

Representing the SPO in stakeholder acquisition discussions related to current and future contracts

Required

Bachelor's and 9 or more years of experience; master's and 7 or more years of experience; PhD and 5 or more years of experience. Significant customer experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly

Experience in DoD or IC acquisition, procurement, and/or contracting processes and policies

Experience managing technical, cost, and/or schedule performance in system acquisitions over $50M
