Principal Faculty (PA Program)
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time non-tenure track Principal Faculty position within their Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program. The role involves teaching and assessing various clinical topics, advising students, and contributing to program development and accreditation processes.
Responsibilities
Provide student instruction in a broad range of clinical topics within the classroom, in small groups, and in the Physical Exam laboratory
Evaluate student performance in assigned courses and identify student learning deficiencies
Provide remedial instruction in assigned courses
Coordinate/direct instruction in assigned courses, including preparation of course syllabus, course LMS site, exam administration, reporting of student performance, and course analysis
Performs student advisement and academic counseling
Assists the Program Director, the Medical Director, and the Clinical Coordinator in clinical site recruitment, evaluation, and maintenance
Assists in the development, implementation, and continuous review of the program’s curriculum
Assists the Program Director with program evaluation, development, and accreditation maintenance as needed
Participate in student recruitment, admission, and selection processes
Service to the department, college, community, and profession
If desired, participate in clinical practice (1 day per week) or scholarly activities
Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Chair of the Department of Allied Health Sciences, and the Dean of the School of Health Sciences
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program within the US
Current and valid NCCPA Certification; New York licensure is preferred
A minimum of three years of clinical practice experience
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Dedication to preparing PA graduates for real-world practice
Share in the Mission of ACPHS and be a strong advocate for the PA profession
Commitment to continuous growth, development, and improvement
Ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds
Preferred
Teaching experience in higher education, or experience serving as a clinical preceptor for healthcare students, is preferred
Familiarity with ARC-PA Standards and Accreditation is preferred
