Engineering Supervisor, Thermal-Mechanics

Responsibilities
Ensures effective performance of engineering assignments
Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned
Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards
Ensures adherence to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures
Monitors goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members
Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships
Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements
Works on special projects, as directed. Performs other related duties and tasks, as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment
Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills
Displays leadership characteristics
Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking
Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills
Preferred
Leadership - Responsible for leading a team of engineers with varying skill sets and years of experience including assigning tasks, giving clear direction, setting realistic goals and timelines, providing feedback, and motivating team members
Project Management - Plan and organize projects, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are completed with budget and are of high quality
Communication / Interpersonal Skills - Ability to collaborate with team members, other departments, customers, and different levels of management; Able to convey technical information clearly, listen actively, and foster open lines of communication
Problem-solving / Decision-making - Adept at analyzing complex problems and making informed decisions; Able to think critically, evaluate alternatives and propose effective solutions to technical challenges
Technical Knowledge - Deep understanding of engineering principles, particularly with respect to thermal-mechanical analysis of nuclear fuel; Cognizant of industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies
