Field Engineer (MA), Network Design & Engineering
Aervivo is on a mission to provide equitable access to the Internet by empowering residential communities to deliver reliable, affordable, gigabit managed WiFi. The Field Engineer will perform field assessments, validate design assumptions, and support deployment activities for broadband network installations in multi-dwelling unit communities.

Responsibilities
Conduct detailed site walks to capture building layouts, pathway routes, and equipment locations
Verify space, power, and grounding availability for MDFs, IDFs, and equipment racks
Document site conditions through measurements, photos, and marked-up floorplans
Identify construction constraints and recommend routing or mounting solutions
Perform line-of-sight (LOS) and signal verification for wireless backhaul and distribution radios
Support installation teams during cabling, radio, and equipment deployment
Ensure workmanship meets Aervivo’s quality standards and complies with NEC/NESC and local codes
Perform QA/QC inspections to verify installations match design specifications and as-built requirements
Assist with troubleshooting and testing of cabling, fiber terminations, and network components
Collaborate with the design team to provide feedback from the field that improves accuracy and constructability
Produce clear field reports summarizing findings, deviations, and corrective actions
Maintain organized documentation in shared systems (photos, drawings, redlines, reports)
Provide as-built markups and input for updating design packages after installation
Coordinate with project managers and logistics teams on material needs and installation progress
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in telecom field engineering, structured cabling, or broadband installation
Strong knowledge of fiber optic, Cat6, and low-voltage systems
Ability to interpret and validate engineering drawings, construction prints, and site plans
Familiarity with OSP/ISP construction methods, including conduit, raceways, aerial/underground routing, and equipment mounting
Proficient with tools and instruments such as laser measurers, cable testers, OTDRs, and survey apps
Working understanding of NEC/NESC codes and safety standards
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently in the field
Experience with fiber splicing, termination, and optical testing
Background in wireless radio or RF installations (point-to-point, WiFi mesh, or mmWave)
Familiarity with construction permitting and inspection processes
Knowledge of AutoCAD, SmartDraw, or GIS tools for updating as-builts
Experience collaborating with design and project management teams in fast-paced environments
