System Administrator, Engineering
Aervivo is on a mission to provide equitable access to the Internet by empowering residential communities with reliable, affordable gigabit managed WiFi. The System Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a complex network and compute infrastructure across several data centers.

Responsibilities
Designing, implementing, and maintaining a complex network and compute infrastructure across several data centers
Managing projects, identifying risk, maintaining clear and constant communication with stakeholders, and thinking unconventionally to drive the platform forward
Developing hardware and software designs, which will be versioned and reproducible, through to supporting the engineering team as they scale the production environment
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years serving in a System Administration, Network Administrator or similar role
4 years working with Virtualization, Dynamic Routing including BGP, OSPF, and OSPFv6 required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience
Experience working with databases, message queues, and patch management
Programming experience in a non-shell scripting languages such as Python, PHP, or C
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms including (but not limited to) Linux, BSD, and Windows
Extensive experience of working in data center environments including installing, monitoring, and maintaining servers and networking devices and functions
You live on the cutting edge of industry best practices, with experience in designing, implementing, managing and continuously evolving data center infrastructure to support an organization's availability, security, scalability and sustainability requirements and create appropriate outage, disaster recovery and continuity plans
As well as holding yourself to a high degree of accountability, you demand it of others and don't hesitate to issue a call to action when required. You create an environment where failure and understanding is embraced as an opportunity for everyone to learn and improve
You prioritize prevention and proactive actions but when events happen you excel in leading through a crisis with proven ability to lead all phases of response and post-event analysis and action, including close attention to detail and effective root cause analysis

CISSP, CEH, or similar certification
