Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance
Georgia State University is experiencing growth and is looking for an Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance to join the College of Law. This role involves managing the College's administrative operations, overseeing financial planning, resource allocation, and providing strategic support to the Dean.

Responsibilities
The assistant dean serves as chief financial officer of the College and principal financial advisor to the Dean
The assistant dean directs financial planning and resource allocation for the School’s operating budget and has fiduciary responsibility for maintaining a sound financial environment
This position works closely with College administrators who process and record financial transactions to ensure timely and accurate information for budgetary compliance
The assistant dean works closely with the Dean to develop and coordinate the College’s annual academic and operating budget planning process, forecasts and predicts resource requirements for new and current programs and develops funding strategies
The position works closely with the Dean regarding faculty proposals, special initiatives, and faculty target and operating budget submissions
Makes presentations to the faculty and other constituent groups regarding budgetary issues
This position manages the law school’s College Finance Officer in the oversight of all financial and business services operations of the College while maintaining the integrity and transparency of budget planning and reporting within the law school
These functions include budgetary financial management, budgetary transactional operations, accounts payable and purchasing, contracts and grants, vendor administration, cost control, and monitoring
This position manages the law school’s Director of Information Technology, overseeing the law school’s commitment to technology; producing a plan to accomplish the law school’s goals in technology; directing the operations of the academic computing systems, audio-visual support, and the computer infrastructure of the law school; and coordinating support for the law school’s technology needs
The assistant dean manages the College’s Director of Administrative Services regarding administrative service operations: facilities operations, telecommunications, records maintenance, purchasing, shipping/receiving, mail distribution, and support services
The assistant dean is responsible for oversight of the faculty support services team and advises the support manager regarding employee supervision and provision of administrative and academic services to faculty
The assistant dean manages College of Law facilities and coordinates space planning with the Dean, faculty and other senior managers
The position supports the Dean in strategic planning for future space needs and manages special projects as needed
The assistant dean serves as a liaison to the University regarding major space projects, space management, and space allocation
The assistant dean directs and advises the law school’s Director of Conference Center Services, providing oversight for the financial management, general operation, marketing, sales initiatives, and client development/stewardship of the Knowles Conference Center
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance
seven years of related experience
Preferred
Master's degree of Business Administration or Master of Science in a related field
demonstrate leadership in University or higher education administration
ability to effectively interact and achieve positive results with various teams
ability to manage staff at various professional levels
ability to independently manage complex tasks, and prioritize to attain key objectives
strong organizational, communication, and management skills
ability to work well with faculty, staff, and individuals from diverse and inclusive backgrounds
additional experience in facilities management and personnel management
knowledge of issues in higher education management and/or legal education management
