The role involves providing inspection on roadway construction projects for the Maine Department of Transportation, focusing on measurement, documentation, and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities
Inspection duties will include basic construction inspection, measurement and documentation of construction activities, computation of quantities and checking work for compliance with specifications
Work may also include performing basic field testing and communicating the test results to your supervisor as well as collecting quantity tickets on paving projects
Work beyond eight hours per day/40 hours per week is typically required
Time over 40 hours a week is compensated for at time-and-a-half
Night and weekend work may also be required
Travel to the job site will be required
Locations of work will vary depending on the assignment
Qualification
Required
Seeking a college degree (2-year or 4-year) in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent
Looking to gain construction inspection experience
Willing to work more than 40 hours per week
Reliable, hardworking and willing to follow directions provided by supervisor
Valid driver's license; safe/reliable transportation
