Executive Director, Strategic Sourcing
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is America's first cancer center founded in 1898. The Executive Director, Strategic Sourcing, is responsible for overseeing the organization’s Strategic Sourcing to deliver cost savings, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation, while collaborating with vendors and internal teams to provide support to senior executive management.
Responsibilities
Provides leadership, direction, and education on the Source-to-Contract from planning to consumption to final disposal of product
Oversees and directs all significant activities in Purchasing, Contracting, Value Analysis and other functions. Ensures these functions operate: (a) in concert with each other and all organizational functions, (b) in support of organizational objectives, and (c) under leading-edge technologies and innovative supply chain concepts
Participates in the strategic planning of Roswell Park's Strategic Sourcing organizational objectives, develops and implements short- and long-term goals
Creates and ensures adherence to Roswell Park Policy regarding supplier strategy; assures Supply Chain Management and related activities align with the Institute’s objectives
Maintains solid strategic sourcing principles and practices throughout the Institute, including total cost of ownership, return on investment and other sound business principles
Qualification
Required
Recognized licensure, if required, to perform the functions of the position
Doctoral degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity
Master's degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity
Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of six (6) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity
Any combination of education/experience/training that demonstrates the ability of the individual to perform executive-level duties and fulfill the responsibilities of the Executive Director. However, all candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and have the equivalent of at least eighteen (18) months' experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; stated in 1, 2, or 3 above
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices
Preferred
Master's degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity
Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of seven (7) years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (18) months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity
Broad knowledge and thorough understanding of the trends and forces shaping the healthcare arena and the supply chain
Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and constituencies who have strong interests and legitimate requirements
Management skills which foster the principles of accountability, goal setting, and workforce engagement
As a team member, the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team; as a team leader, interest, skill, and success in getting groups to work together cooperatively
