Contact Representative (Office Automation/Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer)

Responsibilities
Coordinate patient visits including travel arrangements and lodging, and other patient problems to facilitate medical evaluation processing
Schedule medical appointments and check records for inclusion of current test results on patients
Explain importance in completion of forms (intake form and physical form) to ensure all conditions are assessed accurately during the board process
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure all abnormal conditions are assessed by consultation with the specialty clinic
Prepare briefings and presentations from slides, charts and graphs from historical medical review board data
Answers non-technical questions concerning appointment and provides standardized preparatory instructions for routine procedures
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing medical records for accuracy; advising patients on the medical evaluation process such as explaining medical board findings, medical forms, and medical test preparations; scheduling medical appointments; and making travel arrangements for patient's scheduled appointments
One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Health Administration and Public Management
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%
This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
A Personnel Security Investigation is required
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06)
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
