The Director of Category Management will design and lead the Direct Spend Sourcing & Category Management team, managing a portfolio of over $150M in annual direct spend and driving cost leadership across multiple operating companies.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a high-performing category management organization across the Direct Categories

Lead the development and execution of a Category Management strategy aligned to corporate cost savings goals and operational requirements for all current and future OpCo’s

Partner with business unit leaders and functional executives to understand demand, align sourcing strategies, and maximize total value

Develop and execute category plans that drive value, reduce risk, and improve supplier performance

Lead major RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier selection in collaboration with business stakeholders and legal

Drive adoption of preferred supplier programs and catalog management to control maverick spend and ensure policy compliance

Conduct comprehensive market and spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and leverage scale

Monitor supplier performance, including cost, service, quality, and compliance, and develop supplier improvement initiatives

Develop inventory strategies to minimize holding costs while ensuring adequate stock levels to meet production and customer needs

Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Finance to optimize payment terms, rebates, and working capital impact

Leverage procurement technology (e.g., Coupa) to enhance visibility, automate workflows, and enable data-driven decisions

Track and report on sourcing savings, pipeline, and category performance to executive leadership

Continuously evaluate and improve category management and sourcing tools, scorecards, and metrics

Additional ad-hoc responsibilities will be needed as the program grows and matures, list above is not exhaustive

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, or Business

8+ years Category Management experience

Proven track record leading category strategies and sourcing across multiple spend categories

Hands-on experience selecting and implementing S2P systems (Coupa, Ariba, etc.)

Preferred

Masters in Business Administration

CPSM or CPIM certification

Prior role at a multi-location service organization, or consulting firm with direct procurement focus
