Responsibilities
Elevate Platform Reliability & Scale: Architect, deploy, and maintain robust, large-scale Kubernetes and KubeVirt clusters running on bare metal, ensuring industry-leading levels of high availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness for critical engineering workloads
Automate Infrastructure Lifecycle: Design and implement comprehensive CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to fully automate the provisioning, configuration, security hardening, and day-2 operations of both OpenStack and Kubernetes environments
Drive OpenStack Excellence: Serve as a subject matter expert for the OpenStack deployment, focusing on optimizing core services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder) for efficiency and stability while developing runbooks and tooling to streamline troubleshooting and maintenance processes
Establish Observability Standards: Implement and refine advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using modern tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd) across the entire platform stack to proactively identify performance bottlenecks and security issues
Consult and Collaborate: Partner with diverse engineering teams across the organization to integrate their applications seamlessly onto the platform, providing expert guidance on workload optimization, resource utilization, and platform best practices
Qualification
Required
Proven ability to design, deploy, and manage large, production-grade Kubernetes environments, with significant, hands-on experience running and tuning clusters on bare metal infrastructure
Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience (beyond basic use) managing and troubleshooting key OpenStack services (Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Cinder) in a highly available production setting
Expert-level skills in Linux administration, coupled with proficiency in developing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Ansible or Terraform for full-stack automation
Deep understanding of container and platform networking concepts (e.g., CNI plugins like Cilium, Load Balancing, Network Policies) and familiarity with storage provisioning and management (Persistent Volumes, Cinder)
Expertise in implementing, configuring, and utilizing observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to quickly analyze, debug, and resolve complex, interdependent platform issues at scale
