Responsibilities
Subdivision and Parcel Map Checking
Lot Line Adjustment & Lot Merger document checking
Easement and Right-of-Way Acquisition and Vacation document checking
Act as City/County Surveyor for cities and counties throughout California
Preparation of easement and right-of-way legal descriptions and plats
Ability to respond to questions and recommend appropriate administration of the Subdivision Map Act and Professional Land Surveyor’s Act
Coordinate subconsultant field and office survey work
Work with various divisions (engineers and architects) within Willdan to provide necessary services, such as boundary and topographic surveys, aerial photogrammetry, airborne lidar, terrestrial scanning, preparation of legal descriptions and plat maps, coordination of appraisal and acquisition services
Legal work - Provide law firms, title companies, and cities technical expertise in the review of defective title, reformation of deeds, expert witness
Providing technical guidance and support to surveying staff
Monitoring project budgets and timelines to ensure efficiency and profitability
Ensuring the quality and accuracy of survey data and deliverables
Oversees office survey staff. Monitors employee development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
At least 10 years of progressive professional land surveying experience
Background in subdivision mapping (major and minor) and subdivision processes, including demonstrated experience with preparation and review of subdivision maps, parcel maps, legal descriptions, lot line adjustments and lot mergers, right-of-way engineering, easements, records of survey, corner records, ALTA/NSPS surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, and design surveys
Preferred
Prior experience serving as a City or County Surveyor is strongly preferred
