Supply Chain Summer Intern

American Ordnance, a trusted premier manufacturer of ammunition to the U.S. Military, is seeking a Supply Chain Intern to join their team in Middletown, IA for Summer 2026. The intern will assist with various projects and daily tasks related to procurement and sourcing, while learning the basic principles of the supply chain process.

Responsibilities

Learn the basic principles of indirect sourcing and procurement, including spend analysis, supplier selection, and contract negotiation
Facilitate the execution and review of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
Verify Supplier Insurance Coverage. Ensure compliance with JCP and SAMl government regulations
Participate in peer review and Purchase Order Audits. Assist with purchase order processing and tracking

Required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple ongoing tasks, manage to deadlines, and explore potential solutions
Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills
Mindset of curiosity and interested in learning more about Supply Chain and supportive in understanding the needs of the team/the groups they are partnered with
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field
Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant drivers license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant
Great attitude and team player
Successful completion of background and drug screening process
Manual Dexterity (e.g. picking, pinching, typing, or other working that uses fingers)

Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time
Ability to read complex documents in the English language
Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
