Responsibilities

Research, source and develop woven and/or cut and sew fabrics appropriate for the J.Jill brand that are innovative while also meeting the quality, cost and performance requirements of the brand
Collaborate with Fabric Manager and Sr Director in researching new seasonal fabrics appropriate for the J.Jill aesthetic, quality metrics, IMU and ESG goals. Participate in cascading fabric trend direction to Mills, overseas Agents and Design
Work with Design and Fabric Manager on seasonal fabric selections and manage the development process for specific departments from seasonal concept launch (research) to line adoption (fabric finalization/booking)
Maintain and organize the fabric library on a seasonal and ongoing basis. Create and maintain materials in PLM
Create, manage and update seasonal fabric charts for overseas offices and internal J.Jill partners. Communicate with mills and agents regarding fabric inquiries, reviewing the accuracy of fabric information received from overseas offices, and ensuring that information is received in a timely manner within seasonal deadlines
Ensure the Mill Matrix strategy is upheld and that annual ESG goals are met
Collaborate with Product Development & Design on garment costing as pertains to garment fabric cost. Suggest alternative options, where needed
Collaborate with Product Development & Sourcing to align fabric development with the sourcing strategy to ensure balance within the supply chain
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure fabric performance and garment testing issues are solved in a timely manner
Coordinate fabric mill appointments for seasonal trend presentations and meetings

Required

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organization skills
Strong computer and Excel knowledge
Must be change adept, with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities at once
A high-level understanding of the J.Jill brand and a great taste level for sourcing brand-appropriate fabrics
2+ years of textiles or textiles related experience

Bachelor's degree preferred
