Technical Sales Engineer – Pulp & Paper

They are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer – Pulp & Paper to provide technical expertise and support sales growth while optimizing cleaning chemicals and wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize cleaning chemicals (in-process and out-of-process), wastewater treatment nutrients, and bioaugmentation products for pulp & paper and steel industries; provide field-level support and troubleshooting at client sites to enhance process efficiency, safety, and sustainability
Design and implement chemical cleaning solutions for industrial equipment and wastewater treatment systems; deliver on-site technical support to ensure chemical program success throughout the customers' processes
Collaborate with the VP of Sales to provide technical insights for customer queries, process evaluations, and pricing strategies; conduct field trials and demonstrations to drive customer success
Enhance platforms like Chempax and Office 365; streamline workflows using Excel, Access, and automation tools to boost productivity and data accuracy
Analyze performance metrics (e.g., wastewater treatment efficiency, sales pipeline) in the corporate office to support strategic growth initiatives

Required

3–5 years in process engineering, technical sales, or process optimization, ideally in pulp & paper, chemical cleaning, or wastewater treatment
Strong grasp of chemical processes (e.g., coagulants, flocculants, pH control) and regulatory standards (EPA, OSHA, DOT)
Familiarity with Office 365, Excel, and data analytics
Excellent communication for field investigations, client demos, and office-based collaboration with sales and operations teams
Analytical mindset with a passion for sustainability and problem-solving

Preferred

Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Petroleum Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Life Sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Biology), or related field. Advanced degree a plus
Field-level customer support in pulp & paper or steel industries strongly preferred
1–2 years in IT/systems management (e.g., Chempax, Office 365) a plus but not required
VBA or automation knowledge a bonus
