David Joseph & Company is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) in Structural Engineering in the Longwood, FL area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and preparation of plans, calculation packages, and specifications for bridge and building projects.

Government Relations

Responsibilities

Prepare construction plans for bridges and other transportation related structures using MicroStation
Prepare construction plans for new building, and modifications to existing building, structures using Revit and/or AutoCAD
Develop contract documents such as calculation packages and specifications and review of construction documents such as shop drawings or contractor requests
Coordinate work activities and provide guidance to supporting staff
Perform plan reviews and participate in stringent QC/QA process
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

Required

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer
8 years of experience in structural engineering, including participation in a variety of bridge and transportation structure-related assignments
Must be proficient with MicroStation
Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis, steel design and concrete design as it relates to transportation and building structures
Ability to work with and mentor younger staff and interns
Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas related to structural design

Preferred

8 years of experience working as a structural engineer preferred
Revit and AutoCAD experience is preferred
