Baird is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Municipal Underwriter to join their Municipal Underwriting Desk. This role involves supporting all aspects of institutional municipal underwriting and collaborating closely with various teams to ensure seamless execution of municipal bond transactions.

Responsibilities

Support new issue execution by assisting Municipal Underwriters with competitive bid computations, pricing materials, and distribution of relevant offering documentation

Coordinate communications between Baird’s Institutional Underwriting desk, Institutional Sales & Trading teams, and external municipal bond dealers

Provide operational and administrative support for both negotiated and competitive transactions, including recordkeeping, trade ticketing, and settlement processes

Ensure regulatory compliance by collaborating with Baird’s Compliance team and adhering to established firm policies and industry standards

Facilitate communication between the Underwriting desk and Baird’s Public Finance Department throughout the new issue process, from pre-marketing to post-sale settlement

Perform additional duties and projects assigned to support the success of the Municipal Underwriting team

Required

Bachelor's degree required

Licensing: SIE, Series 7, 52, and 63 (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)

Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining composure and accuracy

Positive, proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork and client service

Willingness to work extended hours as needed to support deal execution and ensure a seamless underwriting process

Preferred
