Responsibilities

Ensuring that all activities within your area of responsibility are carried out in compliance with BASF regulations, the site Responsible Care Management System, and all relevant State and Federal regulations

Monitoring and analyzing plant and process performance, asset effectiveness, and quality data to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions and improvement opportunities

Providing technical support and direction to the Shift Supervisors and operators in the resolution of plant problems

Coordinating, supporting, and implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulatory requirements within your area of responsibility

Programming and performing basic maintenance on distributive control systems

Providing support for contractor oversight, management of plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and start up

Creating, reviewing, and updating operations documentation, and implementing training for the operations team when technical changes are required

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry

Knowledge of the chemical industry and OSHA safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards (including PSM – Process Safety Management)

Experience in monitoring and analyzing plant and process performance, asset effectiveness, and quality data

Ability to provide technical support and direction to Shift Supervisors and operators

Experience in coordinating, supporting, and implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulatory requirements

Ability to program and perform basic maintenance on distributive control systems
