Engineering Construction Technician

Responsibilities

Support pre-award site visits and contractor coordination, including documenting site conditions and taking required photographs for the bidding process
Review project documents and specifications for constructability and provide feedback to the Construction Manager
Perform daily field oversight, monitoring contractor progress, quality, and safety, and attending contractor meetings as needed
Enforce quality control in the field, witness tests, inspect materials, and verify workmanship against approved plans and submittals
Maintain accurate reporting and records, including daily logs, progress and safety reports, photographs, and documentation in designated systems
Monitor schedule adherence, using the contractor’s schedule and three-week look-ahead to plan inspections and verify reported progress
Assist with project close-out, including verifying punch lists, coordinating contractor training, and supporting facility turnover with documentation and manuals

Required

At least 5 years of experience in construction oversight, preferably in federal, military, or highly regulated environments
Hands-on experience with quality control, field inspections, and construction documentation
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
Familiarity with contract requirements, specifications, and submittal processes
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for tracking reports, punch lists, and schedules
Excellent communication skills for reporting field issues and coordinating with the Construction Manager and contractor personnel
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
