ATI is seeking to hire a Process Controls and Automation Engineer to join our Process Modeling Team. This role will be responsible for designing, refining, and optimizing mission-critical automation systems that power specialty materials production, while collaborating across departments to drive innovation, efficiency, and quality.

Responsibilities

Manage and enhance models-based manufacturing systems: simulate new products, implement setups, monitor process health, and refine plant/product models using learning algorithms

Develop and analyze feedback regulators for both model-based and PLC systems

Lead and participate in problem-solving activities, applying data analytics to process events

Support capital projects, by defining requirements, commissioning plans, and testing model performance

Ensure quality control throughout the process by monitoring model outputs, validating product specifications, and implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with standards

Maintain system documentation and provide long-term support tools

Work within a team of model engineers to establish best practices and cross-train for coverage

Share 24/7 on-call support responsibilities on a rotating basis

Required

Proven experience in process controls and automation engineering

Hands-on experience with advanced process models and simulation

Experience with commissioning automation systems

Strong analytical skills for problem-solving activities

Knowledge of quality control processes and standards

Ability to monitor model outputs and validate product specifications

Experience in maintaining system documentation

Ability to work collaboratively within a team of engineers

Willingness to share on-call support responsibilities
