Lead, Avionics Repair Technician

As a Lead Avionics Repair Technician, you will lead a team of technicians to ensure high-quality results while overseeing the troubleshooting and repair of aircraft electronic systems.

Responsibilities

Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks. This includes using good judgement in handling day-to-day tasks, and knowing when to involve your manager
Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift
Look for opportunities (within your area of responsibility) to reduce turn time of aircraft
Help to train/mentor those technicians assigned to your projects
Supervise team members in daily work load
Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned. Schedule and work quality are essential in these functions, as is showing excellent drive and initiative
Perform general avionics support items on aircraft including items such as removal and installation of panels and components and repair work
Troubleshooting and evaluation of systems on the aircraft when designated
Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated
Aircraft movement and performance verification of systems
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations
Process work orders for return-to-service and timely billing
Coordinate the interdepartmental schedule and act as production support for manager
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Required

Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems
Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems
Experience in parts replacement or repair
Experience in electrical troubleshooting
Experience in inspection of aircraft or systems
General mechanic application skills
Ability to supervise a team and direct project flow
Experience in work order processing and log book entries
Familiarity with required FAA forms
Ability to handle direct customer contact
Ability to work independently and lead multiple projects
Good judgement in handling day-to-day tasks
Ability to train and mentor technicians
Excellent drive and initiative
Experience in performing general avionics support items on aircraft
Experience in troubleshooting and evaluation of systems on the aircraft
Experience in inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components
Experience in aircraft movement and performance verification of systems
Experience in maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling
Ability to coordinate interdepartmental schedules and act as production support
