Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of complex machinery and automated systems that perform specialized tasks through custom-programmed motion control
Apply mechanical engineering principles to create innovative solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and safety in manufacturing and production environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and manufacturing specialists, to integrate mechanical designs with automation and control systems
Review and refine designs to ensure compliance with performance requirements, cost targets, and quality standards
Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of new machinery, making iterative improvements based on results
Document designs, processes, and improvements to ensure knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability
Work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in machine design, automated machinery, or robotic systems
Strong understanding of mechanical motion systems and their integration with custom-programmed controls
Proficiency in CAD software and mechanical design tools
Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex concepts clearly
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Capable of working independently and as a team member
Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity
Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset
