Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 354 Force Support Squadron ensuring that Youth Programs complies with legal and regulatory requirements, IAW AFI 34-144 and meets customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate the Eielson AFB organizations and Youth Programs for mission success
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management
Represents the Youth Programs during the absences of the Director with a variety of installation and functional area organizations IAW current DoD Instruction, Air Force Instruction, Air Force Inspection Criteria, BGCA and the National Accreditation body for School Age Care
Administrative: Assist YP Director in the preparation of APF and NAF budget and analyzes and tracks financial statements, which include expenditures required to conduct the youth and teen programs

Must be at least 18 years of age and have the ability to speak, read, and write English
This position has been identified as having 'regular contact with children' requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHRC), National Agency Check Investigation (NACI), and local background checks to be completed on any person selected for the position
IAW AFI 34-144, Child and Youth Programs para 9.7.2, every staff member must have a physical examination every three (3) years and the tests, examinations and immunizations required by AF Joint Instructions 48-110, Immunizations and Chemoprophylaxis
Must complete additional training requirements including CPR, first aid, ServSafe and periodic recertification training as needed
Must complete all required Air Force, DoD, AFDW and local training specific to pre-school/school-age and youth programs
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate valid driver's license is required for the position
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position
One year of specialized experience which includes professional knowledge of youth development, education and recreation principles, concepts, methods, and techniques to include physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures and skill in handling emergency situations common in dealing with children in a Youth Program (YP)
Knowledge of guidelines, regulations, manuals, procedures, policies, (CYP AFI, DoDI 6060.2) in the administration and management of a YP Center and ability to prepare and implement local procedures for a comprehensive YP
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a medium to large sized organization
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with children/youth and parents
Knowledge of personnel management principles, policies, practices, and procedures to include the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergency, changing program or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality of work
