Sales Internship Paid Winter/Spring 2026
News-Press & Gazette Company is seeking a Broadcast/Digital Sales Intern to provide real-world, hands-on experience in their Columbia/Jefferson City, MO Sales Department. The role involves assisting sales executives, preparing presentations, and engaging with various departments to develop essential skills for a career in sales.

Responsibilities
Engage with other departments in Television station
Assist Local Account Executives with preparation of presentations
Help schedule appointments for Local AE’s or Sales Managers
Assist local and national sales assistants with paperwork and other daily functions
Learn and review the functions of all copiers, printers and other work area machines
Read all daily/weekly/ monthly periodicals for industry information
Ride Along’s with Local Account Executives to visit customers
Work directly with Traffic Manager and other traffic employees to understand Wideorbit
Work directly with Commercial Producers to understand Script writing
Work directly with Commercial Producers to understand all steps and procedures required to shoot, edit and finalize commercials for air
Work with Local Sales Manager to schedule use of appropriate training materials and videos
Work with IMC (where available) to better understand all Digital Sales Efforts
Correspond with External customers as needed
Other duties as required by Sales Management
Qualification
Required
Intern candidates must be currently enrolled in Communications, Marketing, Broadcast Sales, English, a Professional Sales program, or a related field
Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week for a 12-week period between the months of January through May; days and hours will vary to coincide with college schedule
Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and be passionate about interacting with all levels of people both inside and outside the organization
Candidates will need to have a current driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation, as well as being sufficiently mobile to allow for business travel
Preferred
Preference will be given to students engaged in an Accredited Internship course, but not mandatory
