Responsibilities
Read and understand schematics and detail drawings for layout, installation and troubleshooting
Read and do layout with tape measures, levels, square, dividers, rule, plumb bob, string lines, etc
Common cutting tools such as the band saw, cut off saw, hand plasma torch, tubing cutter, saws-all, hole saw, drill, etc
Cut pipe threads with hand and electric powered pipe thread cutting tools
Use hand tools to assemble pipe
Safe use of powered lifts and ladders
Proper use of pipe cement, pipe thread compound, sealing tape etc
Identify and correct improper operation of installed plumbing systems
Qualification
Required

Must be able to stand for a minimum of up to 10 hours per day, with frequent kneeling, squatting, crawling or climbing ladders
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching and grasping
Frequently lift parts up to 50 lbs
Must have good eyesight with the ability to read drawings, small print, and see workpieces clearly
High school diploma
5 – 10 years of pipefitting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Preferred
Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or technical education certificate or degree
