Real Estate Loan Officer
First Dakota National Bank is hiring a full-time Real Estate Loan Officer to join their Sioux Falls team. This role involves approving or denying mortgage loans by understanding the loan application process, compliance requirements, and effectively communicating with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Develop thorough understanding of all residential mortgage loan application, credit documentation, underwriting and closing processes, policies and standards to a level sufficient to accurately and efficiently originate loans in accordance with established processes, policies and standards
Acquire an adequate understanding of the appraisal/ valuation processes used in residential mortgage lending
Acquire working knowledge of secondary market structure and organization, price loans in accordance with pricing policy guidelines; acquire loan registrations from investors and mortgage insurance commitments from mortgage insurance providers
Develop working knowledge of all consumer compliance, reporting and other regulatory requirements relative to residential mortgage lending and accurately apply and follow these requirements and at all phases of loan origination and closing
Acquire adequate loan product knowledge and understanding of bank, investor and agency standards and documentation requirements for each product. Accurately identify correct product(s) that best fulfill the needs of the borrower, the borrower’s credit profile and the subject property. Effectively communicate and council loan applicants on available products, the related fees, charges and payments and the documentation requirements that the applicant must present and fulfill to acquire approval
Develop skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with department staff, third party service providers, real estate agents, investors, servicers and other originating lenders
Acquire working knowledge of bank’s loan origination system, website references & tools, automated underwriting systems, credit bureau providers and agency & industry websites & portals necessary to effect loan originations
Comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (S.A.F.E. Act) by submitting all required information to the Registry and provide the unique identifier to consumers as defined in the S.A.F.E. Act procedures
Qualification
Required
BS or BA degree from four-year college or university
Minimum Of 2 Years Mortgage Lending Experience
Positive attitude and good work ethic
Ability to process a variety of transactions accurately and efficiently
Capability to maintain strict confidentiality
Attention to detail and comply with all Bank policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with various types of clientele, co-workers and departments to resolve an assortment of needs
