Responsibilities
Warmly greet and engage guests as they enter the restaurant
Manage waitlists and reservations using the restaurant’s seating software
Efficiently coordinate seating to balance guest satisfaction and server sections
Answer phone calls regarding reservations, hours, events, and general inquiries
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entry area, and menus
Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and support staff to ensure smooth flow
Provide accurate wait time estimates and keep guests updated during peak hours
Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
Uphold ViewHouse hospitality standards and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
Qualification
Required
Strong communication and people skills
Ability to remain calm and friendly in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
Ability to multitask, manage crowds, and maintain professionalism
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to stand and walk for long periods
Light lifting (up to ~25 lbs) as needed for menus, stanchions, etc
Preferred
Prior hosting or customer service experience preferred, but not required
