Principal Technologist

The Principal Technologist is responsible for guiding enterprise architecture, driving innovation, and providing technical leadership across all domains of Technology Services, while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities
Serve as the enterprise architecture authority across infrastructure, networking, end user services, and collaboration platforming, including cloud technologies
Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership on key projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business goals
Partner with service leaders to evaluate, design, and implement innovative solutions that improve service delivery, scalability, and performance
Act as a sounding board and advisor to technical teams, helping shape ideas into executable solutions
Lead architectural reviews, lead and participate in technology assessments and solution design workshops
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends; assess their relevance and potential impact on the organization. i.e. Microsoft
Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet regulatory and operational requirements
Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps and long-term planning
Mentor and coach technical staff across the organization, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
Represent Technology Services in cross-functional initiatives and enterprise governance forums
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution design and implementation, or technical leadership roles
Proven experience designing and implementing solutions across multiple domains (cloud, infrastructure, networking, and end user technologies)
Deep knowledge of how enterprise technologies are architected and integrated, with the ability to leverage that understanding to guide teams, shape solutions, and support decision-making
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders
Experience supporting IT operations and enterprise service delivery
Preferred
Master's degree or advanced certifications in technology
TOGAF Certification(s)
Experience with ServiceNow, Azure, M365, and hybrid cloud environments
Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and DevOps practices
Experience in manufacturing or industrial technology environments
