Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of new automated control systems, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic goals

Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external automation integration vendors to develop innovative control solutions

Analyze automation and electrical control systems to identify opportunities for process improvements, increased efficiency, and cost savings

Develop and standardize electrical design requirements, specifications, and best practices across multiple locations

Oversee and guide system troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reliability

Provide expertise in PLC programming, hardware/software configuration, and integration of control systems for new and existing equipment

Drive compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices while ensuring optimal system performance

Collaborate with engineering and vendors on capital improvement projects related to automation and controls, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively

Mentor and develop technical personnel, providing training on automation systems and troubleshooting methodologies

Act as a strategic advisor, supporting leadership with data-driven recommendations for automation investments and long-term operational enhancements

Required

1-3 years working experience with PLC programming

Strong understanding of PLC programming, motor controls, AC/DC drives, vision systems, and instrumentation

Proficiency in troubleshooting complex control systems, including wiring, relay logic, and industrial networks

Working knowledge of safety protocols, quality control, and manufacturing best practices

Proven extensive knowledge and experience in automation, electrical controls, or related fields, preferably within food manufacturing or a similar industrial environment

Proven expertise in project management, automation system development, and capital improvements

Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with vendors to implement automation solutions

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a continuous improvement mindset

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence decision-making
