Responsibilities
Performs a variety of tasks related to cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of equipment, instrumentation and supplies required by medical, nursing and paramedical personnel for the care, diagnosis and treatment of patients
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a health care related position required
Must complete CPD training within 12 months and Instrument Training within 18 months, and obtain Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification within 24 months
Must be able to read and speak English
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information
Basic computer skills (including email, basic internet use, entry and retrieval of information)
Ability to follow detailed instructions, organizes complicated technical assignments, work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality
Requires the ability to recognize problem situations and refer them to the appropriate staff member
Preferred
Associate's Degree
Prior sterile processing experience; Medical terminology
CSPDT or CRCST Certification upon hire
