Responsibilities
Collecting traffic data and travel behavior surveys using a variety of data collection methods including video, pneumatic tubes, and in-person visits. Data collected includes average daily traffic counts, turning movement counts, parking studies, field inventories, and travel time studies
This position requires working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis
Travel to work sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours, a flexible schedule with ability to work both day and night shifts in the same week and overnight stays may be required
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Ability to work outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis
Ability to travel to work sites throughout the state
Ability to work extended hours and a flexible schedule including both day and night shifts
Preferred
Associate's degree -or-- two (2) years of experience in a comparable work environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word
Experience reading maps
Willingness to work near traffic
Experience using pneumatic-tube traffic counting devices
