Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement customized GIS systems and solutions using Esri’s ArcGIS family of client, server, and online software
Perform application development and programming using HTML, .NET, APIs, SQL Server, Oracle, React, TypeScript, Python, and JavaScript
Perform common GIS tasks and customize ArcGIS graphical user interfaces (GUIs)
Build custom components to extend the functionality of the ArcGIS suite
Use and customize imagery software to collect, process, and visualize LIDAR and various imagery formats
Process base map data for loading into spatial geodatabases
Support data modeling, ingestion, processing, analysis, and API management for geospatial applications
Support work in the Azure Cloud environment including (but not limited to) Databricks, App Services, Kubernetes, containerization, Azure AD, and Key Vault
Support component-based architectures including OO, COM, and SOA, as well as industry-standard technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, web services, application servers, and web servers
Perform Agile software development and DevSecOps using Gitlab for source code management and continuous integration/continuous delivery
Support documentation related to application requirements, specifications, operating procedures, and cybersecurity
Support research on emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented/virtual reality as they relate to geospatial capabilities
Provide on-call support outside normal working hours when required
Qualification
Required
Education: Associate degree or equivalent
Experience: 5–8 years of experience developing GIS or related applications Demonstrated experience designing, developing, testing, and documenting GIS software for client applications
Experience building and modifying GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS products (desktop, server, and/or online)
Proficiency in one or more of the following, as specified in the contract: HTML, .NET, APIs, SQL Server, Oracle, React, TypeScript, Python, and JavaScript
Experience with common GIS tasks including map production, spatial analysis, and working with geodatabases
Experience with Agile software development and DevSecOps practices using Gitlab
Experience working with Azure cloud services, including IaaS/PaaS capabilities relevant to application hosting and data processing
Ability to obtain and maintain ATF background investigation approval and required federal system access and training
Preferred
Experience processing and visualizing LIDAR and other imagery formats within GIS applications
Experience supporting web-based GIS solutions using ArcGIS Web AppBuilder and ArcGIS Online
Experience integrating GIS solutions with advanced technologies such as AI/ML and AR/VR in support of operational or analytical missions
Experience maintaining FGDC-compliant metadata for spatial data in application workflows
Experience delivering GIS applications or analytic tools to federal law enforcement or intelligence organizations is highly preferred
Prior work with ATF is desired, particularly in support of geospatial intelligence, investigations, or National Response Team requirements
Prior work with DOJ is preferred, reflecting familiarity with DOJ standards, policies, and mission environments
