Director of Tax & Tax Strategy
The CSP Group is a high-growth, client-centric wealth management and advisory firm headquartered in St. Louis, seeking a Director of Tax & Tax Strategy. This role involves leading the firm's tax function, overseeing tax planning, compliance, and strategic advisory work, while developing tax-efficient solutions for clients and building internal processes to support a growing practice.

Responsibilities
Lead delivery of proactive, high-impact tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners
Provide expert tax consultation on entity structure, compensation planning, business transition, estate planning integration, investment tax efficiency, and multi-year tax projections
Review and communicate complex tax matters in a clear, client-friendly manner
Partner with wealth advisors to enhance holistic client planning and strengthen long-term relationships
Oversee preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and related returns (prepared internally and/or through external providers)
Ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations
Monitor legislative changes and emerging trends, translating them into actionable strategies and client guidance
Build, lead, and mentor the internal tax team; develop scalable processes, workflows, and best practices
Design and implement tax service offerings, pricing models, and client engagement structures
Work closely with executive leadership to shape firm-wide strategy, including planning for new service lines, client segments, and growth initiatives
Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party tax vendors and technology partners
Serve as the firm’s senior subject-matter expert for tax matters
Support business development through participation in prospect meetings and thought leadership
Work closely with financial planning, investment, and operations teams to integrate tax strategy across the firm
Qualification
Required
Active CPA license required
10+ years of progressively responsible tax experience, including significant leadership roles within a public accounting firm (Big 4, regional, or strong local firms)
Deep technical expertise in individual and corporate taxation, with strong proficiency in strategic planning, multi-entity structures, and complex client scenarios
Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing client relationships, and overseeing tax compliance and planning for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses
Strong communication skills—capable of simplifying complex tax matters for clients and advisors
