BUDGET TECHNICIAN
USAJOBS is seeking a Budget Technician to perform clerical and technical work in support of budget analysis and administration for the Civil Engineer Squadron. The role involves overseeing budget activities, compiling resource data, and providing customer service related to budget procedures.

Responsibilities
Independently performs a variety of complex budgetary, administrative, and statistical functions to support budget formulation for an organization and its components. Responsible for overseeing the budget activities of subordinate offices and coordinates the timely submission of budget estimates by line program managers and staff officials in these offices
Independently performs tasks involving budget execution by compiling resource data from various financial management reports. Responsible for overseeing budget activities of subordinate offices including tracking funds distribution, reconciling commitments/obligations, and reallocating organizational funds
Performs technical tasks in support of the financial analysis process. Conducts informal studies of financial management related procedures and processes (e.g., accuracy of shop rates, CEMAS transactions, IWIMS interfaces, AF Form 9s, purchase requests, etc.)
Provides quality customer service and establishes good working relationships with all employees and co-workers. Provides information about budget procedures to local program managers and accounting personnel

This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IA W the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d
A background check is required for employment
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the application of procedures, methods, and techniques which support the analysis and administration of the budget
Knowledge of a wide variety of budgetary methods, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and precedents; and a wide range of sources, types, and methods of funding
Knowledge of the accounting system and related documents used to gather and analyze budgetary information
Knowledge of automated management data systems
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to work accurately with figures
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week
