Responsibilities

Manages the LL.M. in Advocacy program, to include such duties as: designing courses; managing the application review and selection process; communicating with prospective students, mentoring current students; recruiting, training, and supervising adjunct faculty; and adopting an appropriate feedback and improvement mechanism for students and adjuncts
Creates and implements short-term and long-term marketing strategies in collaboration with the Office of Communications to recruit high-quality LL.M. students
Develops and administers courses and programs that support professional development in the field of advocacy. To include annual and one-time advocacy offerings to Stetson Law students as well as alumni, practitioners, and Advocacy LL.M. students
Markets and promotes these programs in collaboration with the Office of Communications
Supports the Directors of Trial Team, Moot Court, and Dispute Resolution, to include assisting with team preparation and coaching, as requested, with the approval of the Center Director
Supports efforts to recruit, train, and support advocacy team coaches
Supports Center for Advocacy Education Programs related to maintaining the preeminence of Stetson's Advocacy reputation. Examples of such support include: Supporting Center initiatives on campus, including advocacy board try outs, admitted student events and intramural competitions; Assisting in planning, hosting and presenting at Center-sponsored conferences, to include the annual Educating Advocacy Teachers Conference and annual Writing Workshop and Competition; Assisting with regional, national and international competitions hosted by the Advocacy Center
Teaches two advocacy or other courses each year in the J.D. or LL.M. curriculum
Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others

Required

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook
Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team with a wide variety of university constituencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and the expression of these values in building community
J.D. degree required; Stetson grad preferred
Demonstrated ethical behavior, professionalism, and leadership and management abilities
Collaborative work and leadership style, with a capacity to cultivate and build relationships
Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including maturity and diplomacy
Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities successfully
Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism
Flexibility and commitment to periodically work long and/or irregular hours

Preferred

One to three years' experience preferred
Litigation practice experience and experience in developing and running programs, or demonstrate the willingness and skill set necessary to develop such expertise
Understanding of working in a nonprofit environment is preferred, with exposure to higher education, a plus
