Responsibilities

Expertise in infrastructure design, configuration, installation, security and ongoing support
Leads the installation and configuration of software updates and deploys application code releases to production and non-production environments
Accountable to install, configure, and maintain high availability of the environment
Leads performance and capacity planning. Provide recommendations to management to sustain forecast business growth needs
Leads the team to develop and communicate a technical vision that is easily understood by all levels of management
Implements and maintains disaster recovery methodologies and create documentation that follows industry best practices
Proactively identifies and implements Continuous Improvement initiatives
Works closely and escalates issues directly with vendors to ensure that supporting operating systems are compliant with applications, including required patch levels, hot fixes, and revisions

Required

7+ years of systems administration experience, of which a minimum of 3 operating at a senior level in a larger scale or enterprise environment
Bachelors degree
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

Preferred

Demonstrated experience with Cyber Security design requirements, including resolving complex security issues by developing and implementing innovative technical solutions
Advanced knowledge of specific operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise), servers, peripheral devices and workstations
Highly skilled in scripting, programming and/or automation tools (like Puppet, Python, Ansible) to support database, web, and application administration
Knowledge and experienced with installation, configuration and administration of enterprise web services, application servers, databases, clustering, backup and recovery systems, portals, firewalls, virtual private networks, terminal services, authentication and authorization, collaboration, and load balancing
Understanding of Big Data concepts and components (Hadoop ecosystem and/or the Cloudera Data Platform)
Demonstrated experience with databases (i.e., SQL, NoSQL, Hive, Cassandra, In Memory, MongoDB, HBase)
Effective communication skills to partner closely with citizen analysts and Data Scientists
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Gitlab CI, Git, and Ansible
Demonstrated expertise in Kubernetes orchestration across multiple platforms with hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and operating container workloads on OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA), and Amazon EKS, including multi‑cluster management, CI/CD integration, and automated scaling/monitoring
Deep proficiency in end‑to‑end Red Hat OpenShift lifecycle management, architecting and maintaining both on‑premises and cloud‑based OpenShift environments, leveraging Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) and Advance Cluster Security (ACS) for unified policy enforcement, Quay for secure image registry, and associated tooling (operators, Service Mesh, GitOps) to ensure high availability, compliance, and continuous delivery
Understanding of Artificial Intelligence including Machine Learning, AI pipelines, GPUs, and TensorFlow
Experience with working with Application Teams to establish processes for full lifecycle operations to include on-boarding, security compliance, and CI/CD pipelines
Proven ability to mentor peers to better results and identify appropriate training to improve team's technical bench strength
Ability to develop and communicate a technical vision that is easily understood by all levels of management
