Senior Nutrition Program Site Manager

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the Senior Nutrition Program, including meal preparation and service
Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation standards required by the Department of Environmental Health, Council on Aging, Santa Clara County Social Services Agency, and Community Services Agency
Draft quarterly menus for approval by the County Dietician and ensure all menus meet Senior Nutrition Program Dietary Guidelines
Maintain accurate inventory of food, supplies, and equipment; ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all food items
Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and in good working order; submit Maintenance Request Forms for repairs or special needs
Attend Santa Clara County Nutrition Site Council meetings, budgeting meetings, trainings, workshops, and CSA staff meetings as required
Collaborate with City of Mountain View staff, Santa Clara County staff, CSA staff, and other partner entities
Interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Cook, Kitchen Aides, and volunteers
Conduct annual staff performance evaluations
Hold monthly staff meetings and quarterly volunteer meetings
Recruit volunteers as needed for daily program operations and special activities
Schedule appropriate staff and volunteer coverage for all programs and events
Plan and implement social, educational, and wellness activities for program participants
Publish a monthly newsletter and menu
Manage public relations and community outreach for the Senior Site, including communications with schools, churches, and special interest groups (with prior approval from County Coordinator)
Enter participant data (Council on Aging 1367 forms) into the CMS database and issue Senior Nutrition Program cards to new participants
Maintain accurate attendance, program statistics, files, and records
Prepare and submit all required monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports, staff evaluations, menus, and statistics in a timely manner for:
County of Santa Clara
Other government and non-government funders
Cooperate with County Food Service Staff on all reporting requirements
Develop, manage, and monitor the annual Senior Nutrition Program budget
Order food, supplies, and equipment in accordance with menu requirements and program needs
Set annual goals to maintain the highest program quality and financial sustainability
Keep current with new programs, food service techniques, and equipment relevant to the Senior Nutrition Program
Complete additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by the Director of Senior Services

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or a related field with at least 2 years of experience, or High School diploma with a minimum of 5 years of food service industry experience
Experience in program administration and staff supervision
Serve Safe Certification required or must be willing to complete ServSafe certification within 30-days of hire
Bilingual Spanish or Mandarin
Strong time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Sensitivity and commitment to serving seniors
Ability to work some evenings and weekends
Excellent work habits: punctuality, reliability, and cooperation
Valid California Driver's License
Must have a personal vehicle and provide proof of automobile insurance
Must be able to drive for required meetings or training
