Distinguished Engineer

As part of the Hardware Engineering organization, the Distinguished Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping Ruckus Wireless antenna systems, designing antennas for various wireless technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and own antenna designs for Access Points and other wireless products across 500 MHz to 7 GHz
Lead antenna engineering projects from concept to production
Use advanced simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST) to design PCB antennas, discrete antennas, and antenna arrays
Validate designs through simulation and measurement, ensuring optimal system performance
Develop antenna requirements and contribute to system-level specifications for new products
Adapt existing designs for new applications through simulation and hands-on optimization
Collaborate with PCB layout and mechanical teams to refine prototypes for high-volume production
Debug RF and antenna subsystem issues in partnership with RF engineers
Perform root cause analysis and statistical evaluations for production readiness
Support compliance testing and guide products through regulatory certification

Required

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (antenna focus) preferred; Master's Degree with relevant experience considered
10+ years of experience with antenna design
Deep understanding of antenna fundamentals and RF principles
Expertise with HFSS, CST, or similar modeling tools
Hands-on skills in antenna prototyping, soldering, and breadboard assembly
Proficiency with lab equipment: spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, and antenna measurement ranges
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for RF and wireless systems
Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE technologies
Familiarity with circuit analysis and layout tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A start-up mindset—adaptable, proactive, and results-driven
