Clinical Quality Coordinator, Respiratory Therapy RRT
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago provides superior pediatric care and is seeking a Clinical Quality Coordinator to support quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
Lead working groups to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate continuous quality improvement
Perform ongoing analysis of gaps in clinical care and barriers to care; ensuring alignment of all interventions with regulatory standards
Support clinical leadership and staff in developing knowledge on quality improvement frameworks
Validate and monitor metrics to drive continuous quality improvement
Work with clinicians to increase adoption and promote continuous quality improvement and maintain area indicators and/or dashboard
Facilitate the use of quality management principles and performance improvement tools to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in clinical care
Coordinate with department and division physician leaders as well as other clinical leaders to identify opportunities to decrease clinical practice variation and improve quality of care
Conduct literature searches of the subject matter both independently and in collaboration with the key clinical stakeholders to foster evidence-informed practice when applicable
Collaborate with clinical informatics and the data analytics team, using available informatics tools and reports/ dashboards to monitor quality improvement. Ensures feedback is routinely shared with clinical stakeholders
Continues to serve as a bedside respiratory therapist to maintain skills and credibility with staff, and to allow for direct evaluation of the practical impact of quality improvement initiatives
Perform job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Associate's degree in Respiratory Care permitted if willing to return for Bachelor's within 1 year of hire
Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner licensed in the state of Illinois with an active Active RRT Credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) from the National Board for Respiratory Care
Minimum 3 years clinical and/or quality improvement experience required
Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist required within one year of hire
Strong written, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
Proficiency in presenting, communicating, and interacting effectively with staff at all levels of the organization
Ability to independently manage multiple projects with general supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with data management including interpreting, comprehending, and summarizing statistical and medical data
