Facility Installer I

The Facility Installer I is responsible for cleaning and maintaining public facilities, including bus stops and transit centers, ensuring they are safe and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

Inspect, clean and repair all facilities and structures (e.g., signs, benches, trash cans, and shelters) for damage mitigation and general cleanliness
Maintain all facilities at bus stops, and transit centers, and rail stations (e.g., paint and install benches, shelters, trash cans, cut grass, dig out pads for bench installation, etc.)
Perform minor plumbing and construction repairs and fixture installation and removal
Must operate in conditions using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in Bio-Hazard environment
Always maintain a safe working environment
Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action and reporting safety and security concerns
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

Required

Must be at least 21 years old
High school diploma or GED
Two (2) years of experience in building/ground maintenance
Must have a valid driver's license for the past three years
Class A or B Misdemeanor - Disqualified if 7 years or less from date of conviction or deferred adjudication
Submit to CapMetro for review if between 7-10 years since conviction or deferred adjudication or more than 2 convictions in a lifetime
Class C Misdemeanor - Disqualified if more than 2 moving violations in the past 5 years
Pass an agility test, physical exam, and drug screening
Able to work well independently; as well as in a team environment
Able to communicate effectively with peers, management, and patrons
Able to operate heavy equipment, such as a forklift
Able to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties

Preferred

A Class B CDL preferred
