Electrical Reliability Engineer/Sr Electrical Reliability Engineer
Energy Transfer is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across the U.S. The Electrical Reliability Engineer will be responsible for developing maintenance expertise for pipelines and terminals, managing multiple projects, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes.

Responsibilities
Work with/for Sunoco project managers, Sunoco operations, Sunoco maintenance, contract engineering firms, customers, contractors, vendors, and inspectors. Must communicate and interact effectively with other company/contract disciplines to execute projects
Supervise contract personnel, engineering firms, integrators, vendors and/or electrical contractors as needed to perform these functions
Work with local utility representatives to design new and upgrade existing electrical services
Define and ensure the project complies with required codes, safety standards, specifications, work scope and construction drawings
Manage multiple projects simultaneously within a managed budget and execution schedule and performs cost tracking and status reporting for assigned projects
Remain on location during critical commissioning activities for the duration of the startup activities
Evaluate, properly apply and provide training for vendor’s products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills capable of taking initiative and making decisions
Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Project, Outlook, and Excel
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail with the ability to proof work for accuracy, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet appropriate deadlines are required
Work independently with little supervision
Maintain Asset Availability data and drive productivity for departments
Support Site MOC process, including Reliability approval of new or modified electrical system designs and changes to electrical system care plans
Lead reliability investigations for electrical equipment failures, including proper application of RCA process and corrective action plans
Collaborate with Asset Leader to understand and set priority for electrical equipment/system repairs impacting reliability
Build strategy around electrical reliability system training and knowledge support; Creates and delivers training to develop the technical capabilities of the reliability, maintenance and operations team
Identify programs and initiatives around overhead electrical distribution lines to drive reliability improvements
Provide technical data to ERCOT and other regulatory agencies as required
Provide technical review of engineering projects; works with OEMs, unit and project teams on specification and selection of new equipment; participates in factory acceptance tests for new installations as appropriate
Technical expertise: Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and components including electrical switchgear, MCC, VFD and electric motors is essential
Prepare/oversee electrical reliability program: VFD preventative maintenance and Transformer/MCC IR scans
Assist with scheduling and interpreting arc flash studies
Assist with critical spare parts program (ie VFD)
Budgeting and forecasting responsibilities: Identifying End of Life equipment and recommend for budget cycle. Assist with scheduling and forecasting preventative maintenance activities
General electrical engineering regional support
Role would support both business units
Will be required to travel approximately 30%
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
Minimum 5 years of electrical/instrumentation/controls (EIC) engineering and project management experience in a terminal/pipeline/petrochemical/offshore engineering environment
Motor Control and variable frequency drives up through 5kV
NEC and API 500. This includes extensive experience in hazardous (classified) locations (Class 1)
NFPA 70E and 70B knowledge
Piping and Instrument Diagrams, construction drawings, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, PLC panel layout drawings, loop diagrams, ISA data sheets, etc
Instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and metering. This includes the use of diaphragm seals
